Fitzroy Victoria makes West Coburg its home 6 December, 2005 ![]() Grant Hill grins after the 1s maiden away win West Coburg must wonder what they’ve done to offend the North Fitzroy club, as the Westburgers’ massive defeats away have followed them to their backyard, both our Firsts and Thirds easily accounting for the northern neighbours. Firstly, the Thirds lost only one rink on its way to their maiden away win by a leisurely 33 shots. Secondly, our top side did their best to mimic the Thirds with a maiden 32 shot away win of their own. Thirdly, our Seconds refused to be outdone and destroyed the bodies, minds and souls of Gladstone Park with a humiliating 111 shot victory, which would’ve had Admiral Lord Nelson feeling a certain déjà vu. Whoever said “history never repeats” was almost proved wrong as Rhink Rhubarb, comprised of Pat Morton, Jack Bando, Barry Morton and Robin Hill again won the mugs, this time courtesy of a 46 shot flogging. Team Red completed the rout with Templestowe giving them a walk over. Back to News and Events |
