Dons cast a shadow over North Fitzroy
3 December, 2005

Rhubarb and Barry do the sums on the mugs.
Team Red turned to a deeper shade of mahogany as a few cracks appeared in the Fitzroy Fortress, while the club went agonisingly close to two away wins.

Visiting Doncaster pinched the points from Team Red with a 14 shot win, where all three rinks could’ve gone either way.

The Seconds set about mending the cracks, beating Keilor by 24 shots despite only winning two of the four rinks. Rhink Rhubarb (Pat Morton, Craig Sellick, Barry Morton and Robin Hill) made their opponents look like mugs with the day’s best win, 44-6.

Our frustrated First team returned from Moonee Valley with four premiership points, which could so easily have been 14, going down by just seven shots.

A similar story was brought by the Thirds from Reservoir following their competitive 10 shot loss.

Overall, a very even day for the club: winning seven rinks; losing eight; and an overall deficit of seven shots after 375 ends.
