Sunday Bloody Sunday
21 November, 2005

The sun shines on Brian Thornburn.
U2 wrote a song that could have easily described the massacre that occurred on the greens of Brunswick St on double-header Sunday, where the Firsts and Thirds destroyed their opponents by a combined total of 141 points from eight victorious rinks.

Third position welcomed the First side following their 83 shot demolition of Werribee RSL who left with a sour taste in their mouths and returned to the fruity aroma across the Westgate.

Terry Dorgan’s rink was victorious by 26 shots and Terry, along with Kevin Manifold, Keith Bullock and Dave Tennenbaum, took the mugs home to their respective mantelpieces.

Glenroy were the other unlucky side to visit North Fitzroy and managed a slightly more modest 58 shot shellacking.

The Seconds sunk to eighth spot on the ladder after their 16 shot loss at Broadmeadows and will be looking for a stronger showing in the second half of the season.

Team Red went through the weekend without any action, this time giving a walk over to Moonee Valley.
